News on environmental zones and air pollution

Google measures air pollution

For years, the roads have been photographed by Google vehicles. In the future, the vehicles could be equipped with sensors to collect data on air quality and pollutants such as carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen monoxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and ozone (O3). The aim is to obtain an exact picture of air pollution. Google will then make the data available through its "BigQuery" data service. The system will be tested for the first time in Autumn in the USA and Europe.
