Trouble over Cologne transit ban
As part of the air pollution control plan, trucks weighing more than 7.5 tonnes have been banned from passing through certain districts of the cathedral city since Thursday. For example, the aforementioned vehicles on the right bank of the Rhine are forced to drive around the districts of Deutz and Mülheim on a large scale. There are exceptions for delivery traffic and coaches.
The German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association, on the other hand, criticises the new regulations and threatens to take comprehensive legal countermeasures.
