Environmental Zone Overath – Germany

The district authority of Cologne decided that a plan for air quality improvement will be introduced in the city of Overath beginning from 03.07.2017. This plan includes the introduction of an environmental zone on 01.10.2017. 

Then, only vehicles with a green environmental badge will be allowed to enter the city that counts 27,000 inhabitants. Exceptions to the rule are also settled in the plan for air quality improvement.

Area/extension of the environmental zone:
The area has an extension of 700 m from the east to the west and 800 m from the north to the south. The train station of Overath is situated in the centre of the environmental zone.

The environmental zone Overath is delimited by the following streets: In the west, by Probeistraße, Hauptstraße and Kemenaterberg, in the north, by Hubertushang and Josefshöhe, in the south and east by Aggerwiesen until the B55. The access to the parking of the train station coming from the B55 and Dr.-Ringens-Str. street is excluded from the environmental zone.
