The Hanseatic city is currently testing a garbage truck that is completely powered by an electric motor for a whole year. The prototype was developed by the Swedish company Volvo in cooperation with Europe's largest body manufacturer Faun. If the environmentally friendly vehicle proves itself in Hamburg's road traffic, it will go into series production. According to the manufacturer's information, the range is around 300Km.
