News on environmental zones and air pollution
As part of the "European Mobility Week", the Berlin Senate, among others, is calling for a car-free Sunday. Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe will react promptly and offer every citizen registered in Berlin the opportunity to use the public transport system tram, bus, city trains and subway for 2.80 EUR all day long in areas A and B on 22 September.
The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller, commented: "Together with many European metropolises, Berlin is pushing ahead with the change of traffic. Convenient, safe and affordable mobility for all Berliners is our goal".
