News on environmental zones and air pollution
Whether or not the state of Hesse refuses to introduce driving bans in Frankfurt's low emission zone, the reality is still there: nitrogen oxide levels are far too high and diesel driving bans are unavoidable. Klaus Oesterling, head of Frankfurt's traffic department, prefers to block individual roads for old diesel cars instead of the entire environmental zone. The Friedberger Landstrasse should not be affected. The decision will probably be announced more precisely in December.
