News on environmental zones and air pollution
A European NGO (EPHA) has carried out a study to quantify the economic costs of air pollutants. The lowest estimation indicates a sum of 66 billion euros per year - two thirds of which is due to nitrogen oxide mainly because of diesel. The sooner the EU will stop using diesel engines, the lower the costs for society will be. This could save between 19.5 and 25.6 billion euros over the next 15 years.
