News on environmental zones and air pollution
After two Diesel summits during summer, one with the automotive industry and one with representatives of German cities concerned by high air pollution, a third summit will follow today in Berlin. The cities’ mayors criticised that any of the promised money for support of air quality measures has been payed yet. Also, it is no good sign that the politician Winfried Kretschmann (regional authority and specialist for automotive questions) cancelled the meeting. According to the newspaper “Welt”, Kretschmann’s representatives announced that Berlin meetings are always critical on Tuesdays as it is the say of cabinet session, governmental press conference and parliamentary party meeting in the afternoon. Will there be enough time and attention left for the Diesel summit?
