Air pollution in the Munich area

The allowed limit values for nitrogen oxide are not only exceeded in big cities. The environmental organisation “Deutsche Umwelthilfe” has measured the air quality in Starnberg, situated in the south of Munich, where is no official measuring station. There, the nitrogen oxide value reaches 54.6 micrograms. According to the organisation, the federal government only wants to help 65 cities, although 115 cities have exceeded the limits. More permanent measuring stations are therefore required.
