News on environmental zones and air pollution
The organisation Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) demands that the Bundesrat reject state subsidies for electric vehicles and instead push ahead with the conversion of diesel vehicles and their engines. Jürgen Resch, Managing Director of Deutsche Umwelthilfe, speaks in plain language: "The undifferentiated funding policy of the German government in recent years is increasingly maneuvering the German automotive industry out. None of the 20 best-selling electric vehicles in the world is currently produced in Germany. If in future the German government even promotes the purchase of urban off-road vehicles that are particularly thirsty for fuel under the heading 'climate protection' in real driving conditions and with company car privileges, it will lead the German car manufacturers into a dead end".
